About the Role
As the Payroll Test Analyst, you will ensure that system rules, configurations, and complex Enterprise Agreements (EA) are perfectly aligned through rigorous testing and validation. Your key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and manual/automated test cases for payroll and T&A scenarios.
- Validating system configurations, including pay rules, accruals, and exception handling across diverse employee groups.
- Performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and parallel payroll runs to confirm system accuracy and data integrity.
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors to ensure end-to-end testing coverage.
- Managing and administering all payroll aspects related to complex employee transitions and lifecycle changes within the testing environment.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects, working closely with developers to ensure swift resolution.
- Reporting on progress, timelines, and methodologies while highlighting risks and dependencies to the Project Manager.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be a proactive specialist able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced project environment. You will bring:
- Proven experience in payroll testing, specifically within large-scale system implementations or upgrades (e.g., SAP, Workday, Kronos, ADP).
- A strong understanding of Australian payroll processes, including complex Award interpretation and Industrial Instruments.
- Expertise in UAT and the ability to analyse project documentation to determine testing scope and acceptance criteria.
- Advanced Excel skills for complex data validation and reconciliation.
- Superior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical requirements to both vendors and internal business units.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of extensive industry experience.
